<p>This week, we’re speaking with a prominent figure in the Siouxland community, Alex Watters. We’ll discuss his personal journey and how he contributes to helping the Siouxland community every day.<br><br>Manhattan <br><br>The origin of the Manhattan cocktail is a bit of a mystery. The most popular story says it was created in the 1870s at the Manhattan Club in New York. Some believe Dr. Iain Marshall made it for a banquet hosted by Lady Randolph Churchill, while others claim a bartender named "Black" on Broadway was behind it.<br><br>Ingredients:<br><br>2 oz. rye whiskey<br>1 oz. sweet vermouth<br>2 dashes Angostura bitters<br>Garnish: brandied cherry (or lemon twist, if preferred)<br><br><br>Directions:<br>Add the rye whiskey, sweet vermouth and bitters into a mixing glass with ice and stir until well-chilled.<br>Strain into a chilled Nick & Nora or coupe glass.<br>Garnish with a brandied cherry (or a lemon twist, if preferred).</p>
